Starting Today - TESS Center Offers Free Lunches to Children

TODAY is the first day of the Summer Meals Program at the TESS Center!

Free lunches will be distributed to children Mon - Fri, 11 am - 1 pm, now through August 18 (except July 4 and July 6).  No appointment necessary.

Montgomery County Community Action's VITA Program is recruiting one Community Fellow for 2017 - 2018.  

Job Responsibilities for CAA VITA's Community Fellow Include:

Requirements: Fellows must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or an undergraduate program as a junior or senior

Community Action Board Accepting Applications for 3 Vacancies in Low-Income Sector

The Community Action Board is now accepting applications for 3 vacancies in the low-income sector of the Board.  Montgomery County residents interested in applying may submit an application online HERE.  

*Please note that low-income representatives on the Board must be democratically-elected by a local group or organization.  

The application deadline is June 30.

Request for Donations - Interfaith Works Clothing Center School Supplies Drive

Community Action partner Interfaith Works Clothing Center is accepting school supplies for its annual backpack program.  This program provides students with backpacks full of supplies specific to the student's grade level.  

Top items needed:

  • Binders - 2 inch, 3 ring
  • Dividers 
  • Filler paper
  • 2 pocket folders
  • Highlighters- yellow, pink and blue
  • Markers
  • Rulers
  • Pencil Boxes/ Pouches
  • Pens - black and blue
  • Backpacks
    • K - 2 (500 backpacks needed)
    • 6 - 12 (1,500 backpacks needed)

The Clothing Center also has an ongoing need for the following items:
  • Adult diapers
  • Linens
  • Towels

Please drop off donations at the Interfaith Clothing Center, 751 Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville.
